"Womanizer" - Britney Spears (3:43)
"Do you want another drink baby?" Andy asked her wife.
"That would be lovely thank you sweetheart." Miranda smiled as Andy got up and walked towards the bar leaving her with their dinner guests. As Miranda watched her walk away a man staring at her wife caught her eye. The man got up and walked towards Andy and stood next to her while she ordered drinks. He turned around to his friends and snickered while pointing at Andy's ass. Miranda furiously jumped out of her seat walked over to the bar and grabbed Andy's ass tight and stared at the man.
"That would be mine." She glared while grabbing a confused Andy's hand and leading her back to the table.
I Can't Do That Anymore - Faith Hill (4:02)
Andy grabbed her bags and slammed the door behind her. Instead of getting a cab she decided to walk.
She reached the front steps of the townhouse and knocked twice. Miranda answered the door to a soaking wet Andy with a black eye. Miranda's face softened as Andy dropped her bags on the front stoop and fell into her lover's arms.
"I love you Andrea." Miranda whispered into her ear.
"I love you too."
"Dream A Little Dream of Me" - The Mamas and the Papas (3:14)
Miranda lay propped up in bed going through the book. Her lover asleep against her midsection with her face snuggled into Miranda's neck. Pulling off her glasses Miranda closed the book and placed both items on the nightstand. She looked down at her Andrea while running a hand through her soft brown hair.
"Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you love" She whispered as she kissed Andrea's forehead and turned out the light.
"Seven Years" - Norah Jones (2:25)
Andy layed sprawled out on the couch watching tv just to pass the time. Miranda was away on business and it was New Years eve. This was the first New Years that they would not be together since they'd be married. Andy turned off the TV just 5 minutes before midnight hoping that she could just fall asleep so it could be New Years Day, so Miranda could be home with her. She shut her eyes and began drifting off to sleep when she heard a song playing in the back of her head.
That's weird I thought I turned off the tv. Andy said as she leaned up to see that the TV was in fact still off but the stereo was on.
Until she felt a set of arms wrap around her from behind. She smiled.
She's home.
"Baby You Belong" - Faith Hill (4:08)
Miranda took Andy's hand as they walked the outstretched beach. It was midnight and no one was around, only the two lovers and the sound of the waves rolling in.
Andy couldn't contain herself, she felt so much joy and love for Miranda that she needed to be close to her. She wrapped her arms around Miranda's and layed her head on Miranda's shoulder as they walked along the path of wet sand where the tide previously was. Miranda stared down at her lover and smiled at her display of affection.
"You belong with me." Miranda muttered to herself. Andy flashed her megawatt smile and kissed Miranda on the cheek.

Note: I got eternalnightday's blessing to write a prelude to her wonderful fiction. And this idea pop into my head once I realized how she was mapping out how the fiction was ordered by steps in they're life and I felt this, would sort of take us out of reality world a bit for her original fic but I thought it would be kind of a sweet ending. Hope you enjoy it! And thanks to eternalnightday for her blessing and wonderful fiction!
Andrea stood up, the fog around her ankles waving over her feet. She peered at the clothes on her back, all white. A white blouse with a cream colored vest which fit her curves perfectly and white skinny jeans with white heels. Her shiny brown hair in a soft wave down her back, not a gray strand in sight. Glancing at her surroundings which was nothing but open air with the fog at her feet. The sky, a white color almost like she was in an extremely large room with white walls that went on forever. Her body felt great, no achiness like it had felt when ..she.. died…… she died. Miranda. Where was Miranda?! She felt at her left ring finger which felt strange. Her ring was gone.
Andrea spun around in a tizzy.
“Miranda?!” She yelled to the open space. It only echoed back. Andrea felt tears sting her eyes. They did this together so they could be together. How could God decide this? Suddenly a mirror formed before her. Andrea, confused, stepped forward and realized she was no longer in the state that she was when she died. She was once again 30, the year she confessed her love to Miranda.
While staring at her form in the mirror she heard a voice like a breeze by her right ear.
“You are here because you loved without regret. Regret for the past, present, or future. You have made mistakes Andrea. But your undying love for another has brought you here. You may go now.”
The mirror slowly faded away and in the distance a gold gate appeared. Andrea walked towards it, with every step she prayed that where ever she was being lead that her Miranda was waiting. As the golden gate came clear into view she saw a middle aged woman off to the right of the gate, maybe in her late 50’s, sitting in a golden chair. Her outfit was white but instead of the slacks, vest and blouse she wore a white suit top with a blouse underneath, her white pencil skirt sitting perfectly below her kneecaps. She was reading a magazine of some sort, flipping through the pages with a look of disgust. Her classic white hair flawless, the wave across her eyes emanate as she stared down. The only difference there was between the two ladies was upon the older woman’s feet was a pair of not white but red Prada heels. The younger woman stared at the goddess for a long time until she looked up and Andy’s heart flew into her throat.
“For heavens sake did you really think I was going to leave you behind?” She smirked, her ice blue eyes withholding the intensity and liveliness they held when Andrea first fell in love with her. Miranda stood placing the magazine down and held out her hand. Andrea stared and smiled as tears flew down her cheeks.
“By all means move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me.” She winked and Andrea made her way over to her lover with her smiled still embedded on her face.
Andy fell into Miranda’s arms and as she did her left ring finger began to sting. Miranda’s did the same as both women pulled out of the embrace. It was only then that Andy noticed Miranda’s ring finger was bare as well. She looked at Miranda and Miranda stared back. Both women placed their left hands out in front of each other as they began to glow. When the glowing subsided, on their fingers laid the rings Miranda had given them, the ruby in the middle glowing as if it held some sort of power. And with that the gates began to slowly swing open.
“Ready darling?” Miranda asked Andrea.
“Strangely enough I’m not afraid at all.”
“Neither am I.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.” Miranda smiled and held out her right hand and Andrea took it with her left, the power of they’re touching making the rubies in both rings glow even brighter. Miranda bestowed a kiss on Andrea’s lips after they locked hands and began walking through heavens gates together, ready for eternity.

Miranda Priestly scanned the edge of one of the rose’s petals in the glass vase on her desk with her finger and placed the card to go along with it in the bushel of flowers.
“Emily make sure the car is outside in five minutes and if it is not someone else will be occupying your desk on Monday.” Miranda said from within her own bullpen. Emily frantically scrambled to pick up her sidekick and text Roy. And in five minutes time out waltzed Miranda a blur of Valentino and heavenly scented perfume that no one could ever seem to identify. She grabbed her bag and coat and pushed open the glass double doors.
The employees at Elias Clarke’s Runway magazine see a cold heartless bitch.
Roy, Miranda’s driver, sees a silent emotionless soul.
Stephen saw an insincere career-driven woman, with only excuses to speak of.
What everyone around the editor in-chief sees is only one side of Miranda Priestly, one she is able to turn on and off with relative ease, unbeknownst to others. Runway’s Miranda Priestly is an extremely successful pioneer woman who has pulled something out of completely nothing. When she walks into a room the temperature drops dramatically and people hold they’re breath in fear of what she will do. She is unpredictable, demanding, and terrifying. This on switch is the one used most often. Only a select number of people get the privilege to see the other half of Miranda Priestly. The real Miranda.
The slender woman struts through the Elias Clarke lobby which soon looks like the parting of the Red Sea. Business men and women bickering about their plans for tonight make sure to step out of her way in fear of what might happen to them if they don’t. She glides through the revolving door and to her car with Roy waiting patiently holding the left back door open for her. Her red Christian Louboutin pumps the last thing to enter the sedan.
Andrea Priestly. Andrea Priestly is one of these “select people” who see the real Miranda. Andy and Miranda were married on New Years 2007 in Napa Valley, California in a small ceremony with just immediate family members. They rang in the New Year in each others arms dancing their first dance to Mairi Sine Campbell’s “Auld Lang Syne”. A version of the song they both loved. This was Miranda Priestly. Not the dragon lady Andy had seen a year or so before. That was only a mask Miranda provided in the work place and outside the home. An image to uphold and maintain so people would get the job done and the way that she wanted. The real Miranda loved Andy with every ounce of her. She also loved her two twin girls, Caroline and Cassidy. But the real secret that Miranda withheld from her employee’s and people outside the tight knit circle was that Miranda was compassionate and affectionate. And she never dared to let anyone see that.
Roy peered in his rear-view mirror to make sure Miranda was still alive back there. And she was, her white hair parted on the right side and slowly swooped over to the left side of her face. Her golden rimmed Versace sunglasses framing her face perfectly and that emotionless signature scowl. Roy had never seen her with any other expression on her face, therefore he was never sure what type of mood she was in.
“We will be at the house shortly Ms. Priestly. I’m sorry for the delay.”
“Yes I hope so because I can not stand staring at these idiots parading the streets of Manhattan any longer.” She quipped back and Roy didn’t dare reply.
Andy enjoyed going out with Miranda in public. Whenever she did she saw the side of Miranda that was foreign to her at this point in her life and she loved getting a glimpse at it every once in a while. She loved being the only person in the room Miranda would have pity on if the need should arise and the only person Miranda would defend. She loved watching the flip switched on exactly as Roy was in view to pick them up. The comforting smile disappeared from sight and the signature scowl claimed her face yet again. But Andy knew that her Miranda was there underneath the straight proper posture, the ice cold eyes, and tight pursed lips. Whenever Miranda grabbed Andy’s hand or placed it on the small of Andy’s back for reassurance, silently proclaiming that she belongs to me, she felt the warm electrifying love Miranda secretly sent to her.
The silver Mercedes smoothly rolled up to the front of the townhouse. Roy parked it and got that familiar wave of nausea he got every time he had to get out and open the door for her. He pushed his own door open leaving it like that as he opened Miranda’s door. She practically flew out and whipped her sunglasses off her face. She starred at Roy with a look of pure venom and Roy silently shivered to himself. She walked straight past him towards the townhouse steps.
“Have a good holiday Ms. Priestly and tell Andy I said the same for me.” At that comment Miranda whipped around with that same look of venom and stared straight at him as if she was going to rip him to shreds. She looked him up and down and then turned back around and walked up the front steps.
Roy shivered yet again. “Jesus” He whispered in a tone that was only audible to himself and got back in the car feeling like he was going to throw up. In a flash he pulled the Mercedes away from the curb and was off. Miranda reached the top step and took the time to fumble with her keys. She turned around and saw that Roy was no longer there and returned to the keys in her hand. She found the right key and suddenly a smile grew on her face. A wicked smile that was followed with a hearty laugh. She pushed the key in the lock and turned it, pushing open the door at the same time. She placed her purse on the foyer’s table and hung up her jacket in the closet. The smile still engraved on her face. As she walked into the family room the plasma TV bracketed on the wall over the fireplace was on and the three loves of her life were asleep together on the couch. The fire burned still in the fireplace but not as bright as she was sure it was earlier when first lit. Times Squares bright lights and occupants flashed on the screen which was mute. Five minutes ticked down on the clock to the New Year. Miranda smiled at Andrea sitting in the middle of the leather couch her cheek rested on the top of Caroline’s head who was curled underneath her right arm while Cassidy was identical to Caroline on the opposite side. Miranda walked over and placed a kiss on Andrea’s forehead. She tilted her head and smiled as she studied her wife’s sleeping form. Andy’s eyes suddenly flittered to life and she smiled as she saw Miranda through her bleary sleep induced eyes.
“Hi.” Andy sighed.
“Hi there.” Miranda replied, the smile on her face growing as she pushed some stray hair out of Cassidy’s face and tucked it behind her ear. “We should get them to bed.” She added. Andy agreed with a quiet “Mmm” and slowly began to get up trying not to disturb the twins. Miranda slowly stuck an arm under Cassidy’s two legs and the other behind her back. She hoisted her into her arms and Andy did the same with Caroline. Once again the smile that Miranda could never seem to hide in her own home grew on her face as she looked at Andy. They walked together up the stairs and placed each girl in her own bed. Miranda placed a kiss on Cassidy’s forehead and Andy placed one on Caroline’s. The two women then switched places to get to the other child’s bed. They smiled at each other and brushed their hands together as they passed one another. Miranda then kissed Caroline’s head and pulled up the covers around her and tucked them in, Andy did the same with Cassidy. This had become a ritual in the Priestly house. They would kiss then swap and kiss and tuck them in. Andy flipped the light off in the bedroom on the way out and the two lovers locked hands and walked down the flight of stairs together in silence. They reached the family room again with only 30 seconds left in counting. Miranda walked up to the TV and turned it off. Andy looked at her puzzled. She wiped the remaining sleep out of her eyes showing she obviously was still tired.
“Don’t you want to count down?” She asked puzzled.
“No.” Miranda smiled yet again. Andy tilted her head to the side and Miranda held open her arms. Andy walked forward and snuggled in the crook of Miranda’s neck. She inhaled Miranda’s perfume that was a mixture Miranda came up with on her own, only Andy knowing what it contained. She sighed as she viewed what she could of the room from her wife’s embraced. The room was dark with only the fireplace glowing and the burgundy colored walls to accent it. The big brown leather couch next to them embracing the room’s amber like glow as the pair started to sway back and forth. Suddenly the wall clock chimed bring in the in the New Year.
“Happy Anniversary” Andy mumbled.
“Happy Anniversary Love” Miranda replied rubbing circles on her wife’s back as they swayed together to nothing particular. Miranda led her over to the large borough containing the DVD player and Stereo System. While still embracing Andy she opened the door and pressed play and then closed it again. Suddenly filling not only the air but the hearts of the two partners was the song that they had danced to at this exact time but 2 years before. Mairi Campbell’s “Auld Lang Syne” filled the room with an unbelievable amount of warmth and love that the two women almost melted into each other. This had beaten all of their love making, their kisses and hugs. If there ever was a moment where they were but one person instead of two, it was now.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne ?
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely ye’ll be your pint-stoup !
And surely I’ll be mine !
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
“I love you Dragon Lady” Andy cooed from within Miranda’s shoulder a smile forming on her face.
“I love you too my Love. More than you’ll ever know.” She placed her lips on her wife’s forehead and nestled her close. Never wanting this to end.
